A Gardening Garden Gnome

My first encounter with a Gnome was a surprise to say the least. It took me several days to recover from the sight of the really cute Forest Gnome. I have to admit that I did not quite believe yet. The more I thought of the fleeting glimpse the more I came to realize that I had not in fact seen anything. I had been just a figment of my imagination.

When the time care around to go out for my walk, I decided that I would walk without my mp3 player as I normally do. As I walked outside of the house, my mind argued within itself. “You’re Crazy”. “You’re insane”. “You were just imagining everything”. But through all of these accusations, a very quiet voice whispered to me. It was hard to hear, as it was drowned out by all the rest of the noise, but a squeaky “It was real” caused me to look a little bit harder at where I was walked and to slow down my usual pace so I could listen to the forest a little bit better.

The day was beautiful, the sun was shining, and the birds were chirping. There was a very slight breeze that brought in the smell of fresh flowers. I paid all of those things no heed. Somewhere from when I stepped outside my front door to where I was, about halfway through my normal walk, I began to believe. And so I looked and listened.

Forest Gnome with Friends

I was walking along the forest path the other day enjoying the nature that surrounded me. The birds were chirping and cute little monarch butterflies were fluttering from the small flowers that carpeting the forests floor. I usually go out for a walk at least twice a week trying to get some fresh air and relax. For the first time in a very long time I had left my mp3 player behind. Normally I’m listening to some music on my walks but the birds sounded so cute when I first stepped outside that I thought I’d forgo my usual music companion. As it turns out, it was a great choice on my part.
